Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 1, 2026
TAK Cloud is a paid cloud backup service operated by TAK Phones. It keeps a private copy of the data you choose to back up — your device files, contacts, messages and call logs — so you can restore them or download them later. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information — the email address and password you register with, used to identify you and secure your account.
- Backup content — the files, contacts, messages and call logs your app uploads. This is stored so you can restore and browse it.
- Backup metadata — file names, sizes, timestamps and folder structure, so we can show your backup as a browsable file tree.
- Billing information — your subscription status and plan. Payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we store only a masked card summary (brand and last four digits) for display and never your full card number or security code.
- Technical logs — limited server logs (such as request times and error diagnostics) used to keep the service reliable and secure. Passwords and access tokens are deliberately excluded from logs.
How we use your information
- To store, restore and let you browse or download your backups.
- To operate your subscription — provisioning storage, processing billing and enforcing your plan's storage limit.
- To secure the service, prevent abuse and diagnose problems.
- To contact you about your account, such as billing notices or warnings before inactive data is removed.
How your data is stored
Backup content is stored in private cloud object storage. Data is transmitted over the network in encrypted form, and each account's backups are kept in a separate, private storage space that is not shared or combined with other customers' data — even when different people happen to back up identical files.
What we never do
- We never sell or rent your data.
- We never use the contents of your backups for advertising or profiling.
- We never share your data except as needed to run the service (for example, our cloud storage and payment providers) or where required by law.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your backups for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual backups at any time from the web portal, and starting a new device backup replaces the previous one. If a subscription lapses and remains inactive, we may email you warnings and then remove the stored backup files after an extended grace period, while keeping your account so you can re-subscribe. Deleting your account removes your stored backup files and cancels any active subscription.
Your choices
- Access and download your data any time from the account portal.
- Delete backups yourself, or contact us to request deletion of your account and data.
- Manage or cancel your subscription from the billing page in your account.
